Choosing upgrades as a crew
How to choose between R.E.P.O. upgrades when each one is an item with its own purpose, rather than a simple number going up for everyone.
Applies to
0.4.0, read from the copy of the game this site was built from (see the sources page)
Before you start
- An upgrade found or bought
- An upgrade stand in the shop
- A crew that will actually use it
Steps
- Read the upgrade's name before deciding who gets it.
each upgrade carries a display name of its own - Work out whether it improves the player or the gear before you carry it anywhere.
an upgrade records whether it is a player upgrade - Put it on the stand rather than leaving it loose in the van.
upgrades are placed on a stand and cached with their position - Give the ability-specific ones to whoever actually uses that ability.
some upgrades change one particular ability - Agree who is taking it before the next level starts.
an upgrade is an item somebody has to carry and apply
Common mistakes
- Carrying an upgrade around instead of putting it on the stand.
- Assuming every upgrade helps the whole crew equally.
- Grabbing an ability upgrade that nobody uses.
