Before you start
- A valuable you have not handled before
- Both hands free
- A crew that knows where you are heading next
Steps
- Treat an unfamiliar valuable as something that may do something.
the game has valuables built on a trap behaviour - Do not linger next to one once you have picked it up.
a trap valuable can be set to start on a timer - Expect monsters to take an interest in these objects.
they carry an interest flag for monsters - Put it down somewhere harmless if it starts moving, and come back for it.
some of them move under their own turning force - Use a valuable box when you want one contained rather than carried loose.
a valuable box holds them with a value limit and an extraction time
Common mistakes
- Assuming every valuable is a quiet pickup.
- Standing over one while it does whatever it does.
- Carrying a shaking object through a doorway.
