Guide
Spending upgrade money sensibly
How to decide between the upgrades available to a R.E.P.O. crew when each one is an item with its own purpose rather than a general improvement.
Applies to
0.4.0, read from the copy of the game this site was built from (see the sources page)
Before you start
- Surplus money after a run
- An upgrade stand in the shop
- A crew that agrees on what is missing
Steps
- Work out what the crew is actually short of before buying.
the save records a name for every upgrade the game knows about - Prefer the upgrades that help the whole crew over the ones that help one player once.
an upgrade records whether it improves the player or the gear - Put what you buy where it will be used rather than leaving it loose.
upgrades are placed on a stand and cached with their position - Check the charging and battery situation before buying more battery gear.
batteries and charging are their own items - Buy nothing on a run you have not yet extracted from.
the shop is where upgrades are applied between runs
Common mistakes
- Buying an upgrade nobody in the crew will use.
- Spending everything and leaving nothing for the next run.
- Leaving a bought upgrade in the van.
