Guide
Taking the tutorial before a real run
What the tutorial level in R.E.P.O. actually is, given that the game ships a level of its own for it, runs it with a director, builds it from its own floors, walls and doors, and ends it at the truck.
Applies to
0.4.0, read from the copy of the game this site was built from (see the sources page)
Before you start
- A fresh copy of the game
- A crew that has not played it before
- A few minutes to spare
Steps
- Start it from the menu rather than from a real level.
a button in the menu leads into the tutorial, and the game ships a tutorial level of its own - Expect a director to guide you through it.
the tutorial is run by a director of its own - Treat its rooms as the tutorial's own rather than as a sample of a real level.
the tutorial is built from its own floors, walls and doors - Look at the damaged part rather than going around it.
part of it is deliberately damaged and ships a broken wall, with its own text container - Finish at the truck, through the trigger the tutorial uses.
the tutorial ends at the truck through a trigger of its own
Common mistakes
- Skipping it and learning the controls in the middle of a real run.
- Assuming the tutorial's rooms behave like a generated level.
- Leaving before the truck trigger and missing the end of the lesson.
