The lean a vehicle takes from its speed

Accelerating lifts the nose and slowing drops it, each with a force and a maximum of its own.

A vehicle in R.E.P.O. leans with what it is doing: accelerating lifts the nose, slowing or hitting something drops it, each direction has a maximum, the change is smoothed over its own time, and turning pitches the body as well.

What the game establishes

In play

The lean is driven by speed rather than animated. Accelerating pushes the nose up and slowing pushes it down, each with its own force and its own maximum, which is why the same vehicle leans more the harder it is driven.

The two directions are separate settings. Going up and going down have a force and a maximum each, so braking and accelerating do not have to move the body by the same amount.

Nothing snaps. The lean is smoothed over a time of its own, so a sudden stop does not throw the body instantly but arrives at the new angle.

Turning pitches it too. There is a force and a maximum for the yaw as well, so a hard turn tips the vehicle rather than only sliding it sideways.

What this entry does not tell you: how far the body tips, in which units, or how it feels at a given speed. We have not verified those numbers, so we do not print them.
