The tumble wings upgrade

The upgrade refers to the player avatar it belongs to.

One of the upgrades in R.E.P.O. gives the player wings: the game builds them from a wing transform with a left and a right, a light, a looping sound played from a local audio source, and a reference back to the player they belong to.

What the game establishes

In play

Some upgrades change a number, and one of them grows a pair of wings. That upgrade has its own logic, which is why it is a thing with parts rather than a setting that alters the player silently.

It is attached to the player. The upgrade holds a reference to the player avatar it belongs to, so the wings are built around a particular character rather than around the crew in general.

The wings are three transforms. There is a transform for the wings as a whole, and one for the left wing and one for the right, which is why they can move together or apart.

They are lit. There is a light belonging to the wings, so the upgrade is visible in a dark level rather than only being seen when something else illuminates it.

They sound like something running. There is a loop for the wings, played through a local audio source, which is why the sound belongs to your own character rather than coming from somewhere in the level.

What this entry does not tell you: what the upgrade costs, how long you can stay in the air, or how bright the wings are. We have not verified those numbers, so we do not print them.
