Using a stun window instead of winning a fight
How to use a stun in R.E.P.O. so the crew gets through a room instead of standing and fighting a monster it had no reason to beat.
Applies to
0.4.0, read from the copy of the game this site was built from (see the sources page)
Before you start
- A stun item in someone's hands
- A monster you have already seen coming
- Somewhere you intend to go next
Steps
- Carry something that stuns as well as something that kills.
the game ships weapons built specifically to stun - Choose the delivery that fits the room: held, thrown, or left behind.
a stun arrives as a baton, a grenade and a mine - Move during the stun rather than after it, and treat it as a window.
a stunned monster runs on a timer with a defined start and end - Check what will set a mine off before you leave it behind you.
a mine is told whether enemies, players, objects or forces trigger it - Get the loot out of reach before anyone throws an explosive.
the game separates stun mines from explosive and shockwave ones
Common mistakes
- Killing the monster instead of walking past it while it is down.
- Leaving a mine on the route your own crew uses.
- Throwing an explosive into a room holding the loot you came for.
