What the game establishes

In play

We keep a small vocabulary. Where the game has its own word for something, this site uses that word rather than inventing a new one, so a name here matches a name you have already seen.

A run means one trip into a level and back out again, not a whole session. The game separates an ordinary level from a run level, which is why the word is used deliberately here.

The cart is the crew's hauling vehicle rather than a shopping trolley. It is an object with its own driving behaviour, which is why entries about the cart talk about speed and tilt rather than about wheels.

A monster state is what a monster is doing at that moment, not what kind of monster it is. Being stunned and despawning sit in the same list, which is why a stun is described here as a state rather than an interruption.

A trap valuable is a valuable that does something when it is disturbed. That is a different thing from a valuable that is simply worth money, which is why they are separate entries.

A module is one piece of a level, assembled by the generator rather than placed by hand, and the extraction point is the way out rather than a button you press.

Where we cannot match a word to one of the game's own, we say so instead of guessing. The technical reference shows how each term was checked for anyone who wants to see the working.
