Health, damage and recovery

Players have tracked health.

R.E.P.O. tracks how alive your crew and the monsters are: the game keeps health for players and for monsters, shows it in its own interface, and has a pack you can carry to recover.

What the game establishes

In play

Players have health of their own, so what hurts you is a value rather than a binary state.

Monsters have health too, which is why fighting one is a contest of values rather than an all-or-nothing hit.

Recovery is equipment: a health pack exists as a carried item, so patching someone up depends on what the crew brought with them.

Using the pack is not a single number. It carries the amount it heals, a light and a sound for being used, and its own particles and sound for a use that is refused, which is why a pack that will not go is shown rather than only failing.

What this entry does not tell you: how much health anyone has, how much damage anything does, or how much a pack restores. We have not verified those numbers, so we do not print them.
