It has three tentacles on the right, three on the left and an extended set.

In play
The thin man is built around reaching rather than walking up to you. It has three tentacles on the right and three on the left, with an extended set on top of those, so the monster has more ways to touch a player than simple arms.
The tentacles are interpolated rather than moved directly. There is a value that decides how far they are extended and a separate one for easing between positions, which is how a tentacle can stretch out and pull back smoothly instead of jumping.
It has a head of its own and an animator behind it. The head is a part rather than the monster itself, which is why the game can move the body and the head on different terms.
It keeps a reference to the other monsters. That single value means its behaviour can account for what else is in the level rather than acting as though it were alone.
It has a rigid body and a state. The rigid body is what lets the tentacles push against the world physically rather than only visually.
The game ships more than one face for it. The texture holds two versions side by side: one with bright eyes and an open mouth, and one blank, so the same monster can look like it is screaming or like it is doing nothing at all.
The image beside this entry is the game's own: the face sheet the thin man is drawn from.
What this entry does not tell you: how far a tentacle reaches, how much damage it does, or how many of them a level may hold. We have not verified those numbers, so we do not print them.
