How a run is scored

The game keeps points for hauling, scouting, combat and support as separate figures.

A run in R.E.P.O. is scored in four separate ways: the game keeps points for hauling, scouting, combat and support, adds bonuses for a clean run, and subtracts for dying.

What the game establishes

In play

A run is scored rather than only recorded. The game keeps a manager of its own for progression, and inside it the points from a round are split into four kinds instead of one total that nobody can explain.

The four kinds are hauling, scouting, combat and support. That means carrying loot back is measured separately from finding it, fighting, or looking after the crew, so a player who scouted and one who carried are both counted for what they did.

The haul has a total of its own on top of the hauling points. That is how the game can reward both the act of bringing something back and the amount of value that came back with it.

There are bonuses for how the crew finished. One is for the whole crew surviving and another for finishing with no deaths at all, which is the game telling you that a clean run is worth more than a lucky one.

Dying has a penalty of its own. It is kept as a separate figure rather than only reducing one of the four kinds, so a death is visible in the score rather than buried in it.

Because the four kinds and the bonuses are separate, the score at the end of a run is a set of parts. A crew can be strong at hauling and weak at support and see both facts in the same result.

What this entry does not tell you: how many points any category is worth, how the bonuses are weighted, or how the penalty is applied. We have not verified those numbers, so we do not print them.
